Sociology is defined as the scientific study of social behavior and human groups. It focuses on social relationships; how those relationships influence people’s behavior; and how societies, the sum total of those relationships, develop and change. In this chapter it also talks about race, politics, and society. I soon found that Sociology runs deeper in our everyday lives. The article I chose that highly related to this chapter took place on August 27th, 2008. Hillary Clinton of the Democratic Party gave a speech that will never be forgotten. The reason as to why I felt the article related to the chapter is because it has everything to do with race, politics, and society. The presidential election is America’s most important election. It can determine our wages, our war heroes’ lives, taxes, Medicaid, Financial Aid, jobs, etc. According to a 2008 census, this Presidential election is one of the most important since the election of George H.W.
